Our counseling ministry seeks to provide hope and guidance to help people individually, and in relationships, through Biblical counseling.
What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical Counseling is the private ministry of the Word in a Christ-Centered, Biblically grounded, Spirit-led, prayer saturated environment. This counseling is based on the authority and sufficiency of God's Word. Using the Word, counseling helps people see problems, trials, and issues the way God sees them. Guidance is given to help people apply practical and hopeful Biblical principles to real life situations and problems. When these principles are applied in one's life, God brings lasting heart change.
Who Can Receive Counseling?
First, we provide counseling as a ministry to Pleasant Dale Church members and regular attenders.
Second, we provide counseling as an outreach ministry to people in our community who desire Biblical counseling in a church context.
We serve those seeking counseling for women's issues, grief and loss, and marriage.
About Our Counselor
The Pleasant Dale counselor is a board-certified Biblical Counselor trained in accordance with the American Association of Christian Counselors. Our counselor is not a licensed therapist or psychologist, but rather a pastoral counselor. The leadership of Pleasant Dale has approved and supports the work of the counselor. Continuing education is mandatory for the counselor to grow professionally and spiritually. All counseling is done under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.

Privacy - Everything is held in strict confidence except where in the counselor's judgement, there is a Biblical or state requirement to involve others (eg criminal activity)

Encouragement Toward Christ-likeness- Our staff will encourage you in your successes and exhort you to think and behave in a way that pleases Jesus Christ.

Cost
True Grace Counseling is a free ministry. If the ministry is a blessing to you, and God has given you means to do so, a gratitude gift is welcome, but not expected.
Hours
Counseling sessions are offered on Mondays from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 6pm. Each session is approximately 1 hour in length.
Session Duration
Typically the counselor will meet with someone once a week for 10-12 sessions that will spread out over a period of months. This time period is a general guideline as each situation is different in nature and duration.
