God is Faithful

June 1, 2019

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.

Psalm 145:13b

It has been a wet and stormy month of May. Yard work, gardening and mowing, and farming have all been adversely affected by the weather. Although June should bring better weather many are left wondering what to do about lost opportunities to plant. What other unsettling realities are we dealing with in these days? How shall we handle the pressure?

It's graduation time. The class of 2019 will soon be on their way to whatever is next for them. This is a transition time for both graduates and parents. There's more pressure for students to decide early on what they want to do so they can prepare. In a changing world what are the challenges young people leaving school will face?

Regardless of your stage in life or your vocation life has its challenges. We continually deal with lost opportunities and disappointments. Everyone will feel pressure of some kind. During difficult times we should praise God! All of Psalm 145 is a psalm of praise to God. Verse 13 says, Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. Psalm 145:13

Why should we praise God in difficult times, shouldn't we be asking Him for help? Lord, could you cut back on the rain, Lord could you help me know what I want to do in life? Lord it's too much, there's a lot of pressure - so much to think about.

All Scripture bears witness to God and His love for all of us whom he created. Many passages in the Bible speak to the eternal nature of God. This from the psalms speaks to God's everlasting kingdom. That God has dominion through all generations. That God is trustworthy in keeping promises and faithful in all he does.

If we offer praise to God the focus shifts to God, not ourselves. This is God's world and we are part of it, the world does not revolve around us. This Psalm of praise testifies to all God has done and is doing for the psalmist. God provides what's needed when it's needed. He fulfills our desires and watches over us. In hope we watch to see what God will do in our lives, we rest in Him.

God is faithful.
